Here are some great FAQs that are important to know before arriving to your appointment.
What kinds of lash extensions are there?
Classic VS Volume:
Classic extensions are where one extension is applied individually to one natural lash. It is a 1:1 ratio. They are now what is considered to be the “traditional” technique or original method.
Volume lashing (which is my specialty) is the technique in which 2-6 extensions are applied individually to one natural lash. This is up to a 6:1 ratio. These extensions are much thinner in diameter and lighter in weight compared to classic extensions. Fans will be created with these extensions, customized to you!
What should I do to prepare for my appointment?
Please come with your eyes freshly washed. No eye makeup or products on or around eye area. A clean face with no makeup is recommended. It’s highly advised to avoid consuming caffeine until after your appointment.
How often do I have to come for fills?
Fills are recommended every 2 to 3 weeks depending on your natural lash cycle, how well you care for them, and how full you want them to be. Anything after 4 weeks will be considered a full set.
Are volume lashes the same as cluster lashes/tabs?
No! Volume lashing is not to be confused with cluster lashes/tabs. Cluster lashes/tabs are a quick and easy alternative to volume lashes. These are pre-made fans of 4-7 fibers bound together at the base by a tiny plastic knot. There are many problems when it comes to clusters/tabs. For one, they are HEAVY unlike volume extensions. They are not customizable, whereas, volume lashing allows you to create your own fans. For example, a 2d fan or a 5d fan. Clusters/tabs are not applied to individual natural lashes. They are applied to the base of the natural lash line, often touching the skin, and to multiple natural lashes at a time. This does not allow for the natural lash cycle to grow in properly, causing natural lash damage. The result is usually patches of missing eyelashes and major natural lash damage. They are not meant for long term wear. Cluster lashes/tabs=No! Volume lashes=Yes!
Can I get my extensions wet?
Yes! Novalash adhesive is water and oil proof. You can swim, sweat and shower directly after.
Will my lashes fall off?
The extensions will shed with your natural lashes attached, like all hair normally would. New growth comes in and new extensions are then placed on during your fill appointment.
How long will my appointment be?
A full set appointment can take anywhere from 2-3hrs depending on how many natural lashes you have.
Fill appointments can vary from 1hr-1hr 45 min. Every client has the option to decide how full they want their lashes to be by choosing the length of their session when scheduling their appointment.
I want my lashes to look like this… Can you do it?
Well, that depends! Your natural lashes have to be long and strong enough to support the extensions you desire. I can only enhance what you already have.
Is there anything I can do to lengthen or strengthen my natural lashes?
Yes! Using a lash serum is always recommended and is safe while wearing lash extensions. You can also take collagen or any hair growth supplements to promote growth.
I’m already wearing lash extensions. Do you accept new client fills?
Why, Yes! Please keep in mind that clients who come to me already wearing extensions, I have to make aware that I cannot guarantee my work without removing everything first and starting fresh. Nine times out of ten, I end up having to do so because of improper placement. I won’t know until I see them in person. If everything looks okay, I will gladly blend into what you currently have on.
